Founded in 1953

Golden Rule Industries of Muskogee, Inc. was founded on January 15, 1953, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency by Rev. Mark Burbridge, Tams Bixby, Jr., and Jim Egan. From the beginning, these founders recognized a critical need: helping adults with disabilities access meaningful employment opportunities.

Over 70 Years of Impact

In 1963, Golden Rule became affiliated with Goodwill of America — a partnership that lasted until 1999, when Golden Rule resumed operations under its original name. Today, more than 70 years later, Golden Rule remains deeply committed to its mission and the individuals it serves.

Empowering Purposeful Lives Through Work

Golden Rule’s mission is fulfilled by providing resources, support, and employment opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Our goal is to help individuals lead productive, fulfilling lives while pursuing meaningful work aligned with their personal goals.

Behind every program is a dedicated team ensuring operations, organization, and support stay aligned with our mission. Our administrative team plays a vital role in keeping Golden Rule Jobs running smoothly and serving our community well.
